Sunny start to Friday, chance for isolated storms as the day moves on

Warmer and breezy weather arrives just in time for the weekend. Mild Saturday with a high in the upper 60s in Denver and warmer Sunday with a high in the upper 70s.

DENVER — THE FORECAST BY: Ed Greene

FORECAST HEADLINES: We will start our Friday with sunny skies, but as the day progresses, clouds and winds will increase along with a chance for a few isolated storms.

The weekend will begin with a southwesterly flow over the state with scattered showers for the mountains and breezy conditions for the plains. The southwesterly flow strengthens Sunday warming our high temperatures nicely, but also bringing gustier winds.

The next system, with a cold front, arrives Monday dropping highs by some 15 degrees in Denver and adding a late storm or two back to the forecast. Tuesday and Wednesday will see a more west-to-east flow producing seasonal temperatures.

Then we are still watching for the next system to arrive Thursday into Friday with cooler and wetter weather and possibly getting cool enough to mix snow with the rain at times.
